Match Report
A warm sunny morning and with the bitter taste of the previous weeks mauling still fresh in the minds of every town player and thier manager, bramley started with good tempo and sharp neat passing up and down the pitch creating chance after chance only to see the home team goal lead a charmed life...
Town were clearly out to change the mood of their last game and dominated their opponents from the off and with some aplomb from back to front, quick passing, and deadly accuracy it was Scott kirk firing in from 15 yards to give town a 1-0 lead on 38 mins, with the home team clearly struggling to cope with towns movement and strength, town had the perfect opportunity to make it 2-0 when Scott Barlow was bundled over in the penalty area, step up Shane Hanson, with the ball put away neatly, the referees whistle cut short celebrations claiming " Un natural movement " in shanes run up and a retake was ordered. This time the keeper makes a good full stretch save and the score stays 1-0.... ( bullshit call...)
As the game went on the referee clearly making the game about himself more than the players, both teams created chances and only a fine full length dive from town keeper jack Bennett kept the score at 1-0.
Into the last few minutes and the home team pressing with 3 then 4 up front were awarded a free kick from the salamander ( sorry I meant referee ) 30 yards from the town goal, surely not...... in came the free kick and into the back of the town net... 1-1... but wait, with town keeper down and rubbing his face in the long grass to hide his blushes a foul given and the goal is disallowed! ! DRAMA.... up jack got, and home he trott, as fast as he could caper... oh that's a nursery rhyme sorry, anyway clearly escaping with a lucky decision the game finished 1-0 to town, 3 more points and more pressure put on the leaders... can town carry this on? Let's hope so...
